Spring Park in Shirley is located in the London Borough of Croydon and borders the London Borough of Bromley. It is predominantly a suburban residential area and has a number of parks and woodlands.
The area is well served by both primary and secondary schools and has good transport links to Croydon, West Wickham, Bromley and central London.
Spring Park Residents’ Association (SPRA) was founded in 1932 to protect and enhance the amenities of the Spring Park area, and this continues today as SPRA collaborates with other local residents’ associations and Croydon Council to develop local planning policies that reflect the character and needs of the area.
SPRA monitors planning applications and supports residents where these are viewed as inappropriate or out of character. SPRA reports defective pavements, kerbstones, streetlights and potholes and supports local groups such as Neighbourhood Watch, Friends of Millers Pond and Friends of Spring Park Wood. SPRA arranges a monthly clean-up of local green areas.
SPRA circulates information about Shirley to residents through the website, broadcast emails, social media and SPAN magazine.
